The gap created between an initial meaning of his photographs selected for the media and a meaning renewed by new settings, brings it to another form where an image is not frozen reality. These pictures question a new point of view. He retains images taken on the edge of the frontline, right “next to” it, forbidden images, “absent presences”, mundane gestures, non-events – violence remains inferred. Human interest stories evocate a form of literature, stories, even in a fractioned form, these images are living memory, places, faces, feelings. They come back to the present, to our intention.
