Las Pertenencias del Aire (The Belongings of Air), is a photographic essay developed from the dialogue between the memory of visions experienced during an Ayahuasca trip and the encounter with The Amazonian territory.
The project reconstructs a singular and subjective imagery developed across various scenarios and through symbolic equivalences documented over more than a decade of travel through various rivers of the Amazon.
The liminal experience of these visions amplifies the lyrical and visceral character of the landscape and the natural environment, fostering an introspective approach that observes the potential transmutations of characters and animals as subjects of the same essence.
The project is complemented with a book that includes an excerpt from "Las tres mitades de Ino Moxo" by the writer and poet César Calvo Soriano. This excerpt also gives rise to the title of the project. As a preface, the text is a dialogue between an alter ego of Calvo and Ino Moxo, who enumerates "the belongings of the air" as a recount of the vastness, complexity, power, and elusive nature of the Amazonian natural environment.
Finally, the book includes a testimony from the author about the experience with the ingestion of ayahuasca at two moments in his life: childhood and youth. Memories that contributed to fostering sensitivity to the environment and the Amazon, and opened a portal for these images to emerge as a testimony of the power of the bond with the plant. And an open space to connect with mysteries of the amazon region.
