A document of prostitution and sexual promiscuity in post-occupation Yokohama, by Japanese photographer Tokiwa Toyoko.
Tokiwa grew up in Yokohama, a port town in which many American ships docked, was interested in photography from a young age, and joined the all-women `Shirayuri Camera Club` in the `50s. Driven by her disgust of prostitution, she ventured into the red-light district with her camera to record the various `goings-on`, usually between US servicemen and Japanese prostitutes.
