The original edition of 15 copies was produced by the artist herself, using a Xerox 6500 color copies.
All copying was done on Astrolite Text with an outer folder of Arches Cover and completed in New York City, 1978.
All copies in the edition were made by placing the original
objects directly on the machine.
The color for each copy was dialed for the most accurate
setting corresponding to the objects/masks.
In addition, a few artist's proofs marked A/P were made
for the artist.
Subconsciously, my first found mask appeared to me in a metal hardware form in Colorado, 1975. So allured by the strong suggestion of it representing a mask that within the hour i had found another. For the next three years i became closely obsessed with observing and collecting these enticing characters. The conception that all entities created of any given material unequivocally sported a spontaneous metamorphosis into a personified mask, captivated me.
- the textures, construction, fabric, damage and decay, all composing the quintessential substance of sight through facade/ discreet vision/ mandatory presence and interaction. Found mainly in the streets of Colorado to Chicago to New York and compiling an eventual uncloseable book i recognized the use of the Xerox 6500 color copier as the transcending solution for documenting the masks in 2-dimensional form while releasing possibly the most accurate account of 3-dimensional objects due to the machine's sensitive capabilities of copying items placed directly on the glass.
All the intricated details are electrostatically recorded the exact size as the original with no discrepancy prevailing.
