It is probably a remnant of childhood that drives Louise Narbo to go out and gather tiny things. Beauty,

she tells us, is sometimes found in insignificant details, and it is strange how extraordinary they are in her eyes.

She picks these motifs mainly in the streets around her home, but also everywhere else. She looks for shapes and colours.

Few identifiable elements, or else pareidolia.

These gems come to her because her trained and eager eye is constantly practising this exercise.

In these insignificant objects, she sometimes discovers hallucinatory scenes of archaic animals, or the perfect composition
of a contemporary art painting.

Despite their enigmatic nature, the meaning—often metaphorical— is revealed if you look closely. When she makes these
discoveries, her days are brightened, because she is convinced that it is not necessary to go to the ends of the earth to
find a beautiful subject.

Recently, she went in search of these humble treasures in her photographic archives.

These motifs were there long before she became aware of them and created the series Vues minuscules. Her eye had not yet
discovered them.
