Talking about Fussa
Photographs: Masato Sakano
Publisher: Photo News Agency
Year: 1980
Comments: Softcover with vertical obi, 305 x 305 mm. First edition, 1980. Black & white photographs. Text in japanese. Minor wear on the top edges of the spine. Obi just a little bit creasing. Fading at the top of some pages but reproductions very well and binding fine. Extremely scarce copy.
Domestic scenes of young Japanese families who moved to the city of Fussa, near Tokyo, where they were able to live a freer and more Western-style like due to the proximity of American military bases in the area. Some images depict Americans or mixed couples. All square shots, posed, taken in a deadpan, typological style.
