OSCURANA presents a body of work born from different journeys made by Antoine d'Agata over the course of 30+ years in Brazil, Peru, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guatemala, Haiti, Puerto Rico, the United States, Cuba and Mexico.

As part of the editorial project OSCURANA, INFRAMUNDO presents this book that offers a look at the work of Antoine d’Agata.

The images flow throughout the book, taking us from pain, loneliness, and desolation to desire, passion, death and the fragile line that unites and divides us. The gaze of the author always remains right on the border between conscience and immersion in darkness, sensuality and pain.

The book constructs a narrative in which photographs merge with materials, in which papers, like the one called Revolucion or the delicate Mantequilla paper, intermix with the crude texture of Kraft and other interesting papers found in Mexico.

Oscurana was inkjet and laser printed on 7 different Mexican papers and bound by hand. This makes this book a unique piece in which the materials an printing make it an tactile and special object that goes from the rawness of some papers to the most delicate ones, in coherence to the narrative of the book.
