Fragments is a visual project and artist's book born from the intersection of two lives, a couple, two photographers, and a shared perspective developed over years of fieldwork.

At its core, it is a personal, almost biographical approach to photography and intimacy. This intimacy is not limited to the private sphere, but extends to others, as a way of connecting.

The project intertwines images of everyday life, intimate portraits, details, and images taken from photographic series shot in Libya, Ukraine, along the Balkan migration routes, in mental health centres in Italy, Ghana, and Baku in Azerbaijan...

Detached from their original documentary context, the images are re-edited for their emotional and visual resonance. They become fragments of a single narrative, a coherent whole in which inner reality and visions of the outside world are reflected, inform and influence each other.

These ‘fragments’ are never explained. They are traces of something that has been experienced, and they sketch out an inner landscape that shows how photography becomes a way of living, of staying close to one another, of staying close to others.

The choice, the editing, the sequence are essential: they carry the rhythm of a relationship, with its lows, its highs, its silences.

The artist's book is both a space for personal reflection and a kind of anatomy of love, desire, the urgency of living, and the fragile links between oneself and the world.

Fragments of text, borrowed from Barthes, Kapuściński, and Didi-Huberman, accompany the images. They do not explain them, but resonate with them, opening up subtle lines of thought around memory, the imagination, and the ethics of the gaze.
